Curated mixtapes

Spotify playlists recreating some of my favorite mixtapes

The thing with a mixtape is that not every song is a Great Song. Some are, some aren’t but … the tape just flows.

It fits together, it makes sense, it stands up. More so than a playlist or any digital playlist.

I recreated some of my favorite mixtapes as Spotify playlists. Not quite the same, but still fun.

Don’t shuffle.

December 1991 - Made this one to give away as gifts one Christmas when I didn’t have a lot of money. Don’t worry, though … not a single Xmas song.

December 1993 - Same story as 1991, but this one has one Xmas song. The best one … even if it is problematic.

Blind Man’s Bluff - Named this one from a Trash Can Sinatras lyric. 1994.

Here are two that I made to “impress” women … Mix With a Grain of Salt (1993, maybe?) and Mistake? (1994). I took myself very seriously.

All Messed Up and Nowhere to Go - Afghan Whigs lyric. 1995.

curesongs - I didn’t typically make a tape dedicated to single artist, but this one worked. 1989.
